An Investigation of the Current Trends in Integration of Internet of Things within the Construction Industry in Sri Lanka

This study examines the current trends in the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology within Sri Lanka’s construction industry. A survey of 51 construction professionals was conducted using a Likert scale questionnaire. The study highlights the growing awareness and usage of IoT in the construction industry, particularly in project planning and quality control. While 82% of participants recognize the value of IoT, there is a significant gap in formal training and financial investment, with 76% lacking formal training and 81% of companies not allocating additional funds for IoT implementation. The study suggests that greater investment in IoT training and resources is necessary to drive innovation and efficiency.
