This study investigates the technological infrastructure required for remote construction projects in the Western Province of Sri Lanka, focusing on key areas such as transportation, communication, project management, monitoring and control, and safety and security. A mixed-methods approach was employed to collect data from 42 participants through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Key findings show that transportation technologies, such as GPS trackers, improve logistics and site navigation. Communication tools enhance real-time coordination, though connectivity issues remain. Project management technologies like Primavera are widely adopted. Monitoring systems like drones and IoT devices are emerging but face challenges. The study concludes that while foundational technologies are in use, advanced technologies like AI and IoT are underutilized. Addressing gaps through targeted training and investment will be crucial for improving efficiency and sustainability.
